Primary Links

We currently have two year 13 students, Cally Boyce and Lauren Lewis, working at Waltham Leas Junior School. Lauren goes in every Tuesday and Cally on Monday morning. At the moment they are offering general support to two classes.  Both have received very favourable reports from the staff they are assisting. Both Lauren and Cally have applied to university with a view to working in Primary schools in the future.

Around twenty Sixth Form students have volunteered to work with our feeder schools. I am in the process of establishing links with other schools in the area, with a view to beginning further placements after the January exams.

Six students, Matthew Shelton, Danny Weed, Eloise Ottley, Danielle Willey, Beth Donner and Amy Pipe will shortly be meeting the PE co-ordinator at the Leas Junior School. They will be involved in organising sports activities or coaching for the young people.

We have also had Sixth Form students helping during Year 5 and 6 taster days. Natalie Tuxworth (see below) and Rebecca Deighton spent three days working with the students in different curriculum areas such as History and Technology. We hope to expand this in the future.
